Mobile chargers with Type 2 connection: smart charging without a fixed charging station
A mobile home charger with Type 2 connection – also called a Mennekes plug – is a smart charging solution for anyone looking for flexibility. These chargers combine the functions of a fixed charging station and a charging cable in one portable system. They are suitable for use at home, at work or on the road and work on various connections such as schuko (wall socket) or CEE (power current).
The built-in technology ensures safe charging, adjustable power and often also energy metering. Whether you drive a Volkswagen ID.4, Hyundai Kona or Tesla Model 3, with a Type 2 connection you are assured of broad compatibility with European EVs.
Which mobile chargers with Type 2 are there?
You can choose from various power classes, depending on your connection and car. At Accu-Machine.nl you will find, among other things:
- 1-phase 16A (3.7 kW) – for standard sockets (schuko)
- 1-phase 32A (7.4 kW) – for more powerful 1-phase connections
- 3-phase 16A (11 kW) – suitable for heavier installations
- 3-phase 32A (22 kW) – for fast AC charging of EVs with powerful on-board chargers
When making your choice, consider the maximum charging capacity of both your car and the available power grid. A 22 kW charger works fine at 11 kW, but not every socket supports higher capacities.
Charging speed, connection and safety
Mobile Type 2 chargers charge via mode 2 or mode 3, depending on the model. They are equipped with protection against overheating, earth leakage, overvoltage and more. Some models offer options such as:
- Read consumption for cost settlement
- Adjustable charging current (e.g. 6A – 32A)
- Remote or timed start/stop
- Load balancing for home networks
Our chargers are CE approved and extensively tested for safety and compatibility with all common EVs with a Type 2 connection.
