Which battery charger suits your AEG tools?
AEG offers various battery platforms, including 12V PRO, 18V PRO and older NiMH systems. For the 18V PRO Li-ion platform, chargers such as the AL1218G, BL1218 and AL1418G are widely used. These support charging batteries with various capacities, from 2.0Ah to 6.0Ah. When choosing a replacement charger, pay close attention to the connection, the maximum charging capacity (in A) and whether the charger is suitable for your specific battery series.
If you have an AEG 12V machine, a compact charger with a lower current output is sufficient. For heavier 18V devices such as angle grinders, impact drills or multi-tools, a powerful fast charger with active cooling and voltage management is recommended.
Batteries and capacity: what affects charging time?
The battery capacity (expressed in Ah) and the charging capacity of the charger together determine how quickly you can get back to work. An 18V 2.0Ah battery is often fully charged within 30–40 minutes with a fast charger. A 6.0Ah battery can take up to an hour and a half. If you choose a replacement charger, make sure it is suitable for your Ah level and for the Li-ion battery type.
