Makita has created a powerful line for professional use with the XGT platform. These machines run on 40V Li-ion batteries that are developed for intensive applications such as angle grinders, circular saws and combi hammers. Popular models are the BL4020 (2.0Ah), BL4040 (4.0Ah) and BL4080F (8.0Ah). The XGT platform is not compatible with the 18V LXT system; so check carefully whether your machine works on XGT before choosing a battery.
The right choice depends on your work duration and power requirements. For short, light jobs, the 2.0Ah is sufficient. For longer, heavier applications, the 4.0Ah or 8.0Ah battery is more suitable. Battery chargers and capacity: what suits your working method?
Makita XGT batteries have a high charging capacity and therefore require chargers that are tailored to this. The original Makita DC40RA is the fast charger for this line. A BL4040 battery can be fully charged within 45 minutes. When using 8.0Ah batteries, a dual fast charger can be a solution, so that you can continue working without interruptions. Replacement chargers are attractively priced, as long as they are technically compatible and equipped with short-circuit and temperature protection. Our chargers meet these requirements and are CE certified.
